DGK skateboards – feel the street spirit!
The owner and the founder of DGK skateboards Company Stevie Williams grew up in North Philadelphia. He got interested it skateboarding at a very young age, as he watched the passionate riding of Philadelphia street riders. At the age of 11 Stevie bought his first skateboard and has not parted with it ever since. Together with his friend he used to ride a lot until he became a professional skateboarder and decided to pursue a career in skateboarding business. As he skated in the streets of Philadelphia, he and his friends were referred to as “Dirty Ghetto Kids”. But times changed and now Stevie Williams is a legend in the world of skateboarding.
Stevie has started DGK skateboards not so long ago. In 2004, he together with his manager Peter Golden shared their plan of entering the flourishing skateboarding market with the Reebok Company. Together they have designed a line of skateboards and clothing, which was fully sponsored by Reebok. The series had a great success. And in 2006 Stevie Williams opened the skate shop in Ocianside, California, and in 2008 another one in Atlanta, Georgia. Today there are many places, including the Internet, where you may get a nice and stylish DGK skateboard and a whole sporty skateboarding outfit from the brand.
The DGK deck has a really excellent pop and steep concave. The board is easy to control and do flip tricks with due to its light weight and nice shape. It has got a thin nose and thin tail, therefore it is convenient to ride both ways. Despite its weight, the DGK skateboards deck is strong like a rock, and thus durable. It is constantly rated very high by pro riders and is one of the top five skateboards according to many different websites’ ratings.
We do admire Stevie Williams’s enthusiasm and passion for skateboarding. Needless to say, that a company headed by such a cool person cannot produce garbage. We respect the DGK skateboards company and recommend you to try their decks if you had not experienced one yet.
