The hardcore Dogtown skateboards
The famous brand Dogtown skateboards has existed in the skateboarding world since 1977 under the slogan “Our only Crime is Being Original”. In the early 1907’s the skateboarders in Dogtown were antisocial and really aggressive. Those skateboarders fit the stereotype of those times when the riders were poor young guys, for whom skateboarding and surfing was a way to rebel against the society. So, they enjoyed their freedom skating in the streets of Dogtown.
One of those rebellious looking teens Jim Muir has started the Dogtown skateboards, which are no famous throughout the world. The brand has the reputation of a hardcore skateboarding company, which is supported by many legendary riders of all times. When the company was started, such famous riders as Jay Adams, Tony Alva and Wes Humpston represented the brand.
The Dogtown skateboards have brought some innovations into the making of skateboarding. First, they started to make them wider (over 9 inches in width). Second, the Dogtown Company was the first label, which has started to decorate the decks with graphics. This innovation was extremely popular, and soon all skateboarding companies have started to add graphics to their skateboards.
Their decks have been around for so many years, that there are various reviews available about the quality of the decks. Some are positive while others are negative. However, we are convinced that if the company exists for about 35 years so far, what they produce is worthy of attention.
The Dogtown skateboards are classics, just like the Alva skateboards. The difference between these two brands is in their style. The Dogtown is more aggressive, while Alva represents the punk style. Both companies are trustworthy. So, if you get a skateboard of any of these manufacturers you will not be disappointed at all.
